Sustainability at Hidden Fell Escapes

At Hidden Fell Escapes on Forty Acre Farm, we believe that escaping to nature should go hand-in-hand with protecting it. That’s why our luxurious shepherd huts have been thoughtfully designed with sustainability at their core.

Each hut is crafted using locally sourced, eco-friendly materials and powered by renewable energy where possible. We use efficient wood-burning stoves, water-saving fixtures, and eco-friendly toiletries to minimise environmental impact. Our off-grid approach reduces reliance on conventional utilities, helping you tread more lightly on the land.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of our working farm, you’ll reconnect with nature while knowing your stay supports responsible tourism. From encouraging wildlife habitats and tree planting to reducing single-use plastics, sustainability touches everything we do.

Breathe in the fresh air, enjoy the peaceful views, and rest easy knowing your retreat is as kind to the planet as it is comfortable.

Rooted in Local, Committed to Care

At Hidden Fell Escapes, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword – it’s a way of life. From the food we serve to the workshops we run, every detail is carefully considered to support our environment and local community.

We recycle as much as possible across Forty Acre Farm, with dedicated systems in place for glass, paper, food waste, and more. Guests are encouraged to join us in reducing waste and leaving as little trace as possible.

Your breakfast essentials – including fresh eggs, creamy milk, and seasonal produce – are all sourced from local farms committed to ethical and sustainable practices. It’s fresh, it’s delicious, and it supports our neighbours.

Our popular workshop classes also celebrate the talents of the area. From natural skincare to woodcraft and textiles, we proudly collaborate with local artisans who share our love for the land and passion for quality.

Every stay at Hidden Fell Escapes helps keep our rural economy thriving and our planet a little greener.
